For those who've seen the episode: Holy hell! Best one so far! Round of applause for everyone who works on the show!
For those who haven't: You're in for a god damn treat. Seriously.
For those who aren't bronies: Hi. This comic would probably make more sense if you watch the most recent episode of MLP. Like, not the rest of the show, just that episode is all you'd need to watch. It's up to you though. Thanks for stopping by anyway!
I loved the Joker. He was my all time favorite villain out of any movie I've ever seen.
The only thing that got me was Bane. I mean, if I remember the old movie correctly, he wasn't that intellectual. He was a steroid filled wall of destruction. That said, he wasn't that bad of a villain. Not the best, but not bad. ^_^
Bane's meant to be a genius when he's not hyped up on Venom Serum, and an unstoppable force when he is. They replaced that with a cocktail of steroids and pain meds.
But that's not really what I have issue with, I never read the comics. Bane's voice was lazily slapped over the top of the movie. Not once did it actually sound like it was coming from Bane. That and there was absolutely no explanation for how Bruce Wayne got back into Gotham with less than a day to spare. At that point he was still recovering from massive spinal trauma, was bankrupt, and was in a completely different country. That was one of a number of plotholes that I had to try and force out of my head in order to try and enjoy the film.
So lazy editing and lazy writing, combined with a complete set of characters who ALL seem to lack any sort of charisma and feel completely flat - except maybe Catwoman, but she just wasn't enough to really stand out.
Hmm. That is interesting. I never really paid much attention to his back story, so I was just going off of what I already new. Which was what I had seen from the old Batman movies and a bit of Arkham Asylum.
But yeah, I agree with you on those other points. It did seem kind of lazy at times. Still, I found it to be a great movie once I pushed past those things ^_^
"You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it!"
Loved that movie
To be honest, I thought it was a little bit of a let down after The Dark Knight...
And that is true. The Dark Knight was by far my favorite out of them, but I still feel Rises had its moments. ^_^
Rises has too many plot holes that my mind keeps tripping over and getting annoyed by.
